Our Board of Directors plays a pivotal role in shaping the Giving Care Foundation's journey. Comprising a diverse group of individuals with backgrounds ranging from healthcare and philanthropy to engineering and education, our board brings a wealth of collective experience. With a shared passion for supporting caregivers of patients with traumatic brain injuries, our board members dedicate their time, insights, and talents to steer our nonprofit toward impactful initiatives and strategic decisions. As stewards of our mission, they exemplify compassion, determination, and a deep-seated dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Robyn L. Finseth, M.S., D.C., is a retired and highly respected chiropractor, counselor, and educator with over four decades of experience. She holds a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Western States Chiropractic College (WSCC) and served as chairperson at the institution.
Driven by her experiences as a caregiver for her husband Gary, Dr. Finseth founded the Giving Care Foundation to support caregivers of traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients. Through the foundation, she offers caregivers guidance, counseling, and resources, ensuring they receive the necessary support in their caregiving journey.
Michael Yao, M.D./M.P.H., is an adult and geriatric psychiatrist based in Portland, Oregon. After immigrating from Shanghai, China at age eight, he pursued his academic journey with a degree from Ohio State University and earned his M.D./M.P.H. in 2008.
Dr. Yao completed residency training at the Oregon Health & Science University. After earning his board certification in psychiatry, he completed a geriatric psychiatry fellowship. His passion for mental health advocacy is evident through his leadership in the Mental Health and Addiction Association of Oregon from 2010-2018, where he served in turn as Secretary, Treasurer, and Board President. Additionally, he has served as a regional resident in training representative to the American Psychiatric Association.
Dr. Yao is excited to participate on the board of the Giving Care Foundation, as he feels it is a much-needed resource hub and service broker for caregivers of individuals with traumatic brain injuries.
John G. Lincoln III, a retired Senior Civil Engineer and Project Manager with 35 years of experience at CH2M HILL in Boise, Idaho, holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Arizona State University. His extensive experience includes managing diverse engineering projects, from permitting to project startup.
A devoted philanthropist, John serves on the Board of Directors for the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy and coaches Special Olympics athletes. He is a Senior Professional Advisor for Water Engineers for the Americas, ensuring water projects' success in disadvantaged Latin American communities.
John co-founded the Lincoln Family Educational Foundation, offering scholarships for post-high school education for economically disadvantaged youths. He also contributes to the Yoga Tree of Boise Foundation, fostering yoga accessibility and education.
Vinod Parmeshwar is the CFO-CHRO at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy. Vinod brings 25 years of experience working with multinational NGOs and corporations in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and North America in the fast-moving consumer goods, industrial products, and banking industries. He has expertise in finance, human resources, marketing, and sales and is passionate about scaling programs in developing countries.
Vinod helped launch Saving for Change at Oxfam, an innovative microfinance program, which enabled more than half a million people in 5 countries to save more than $13 million.
He is a certified coach who taught microfinance at Brandeis University and has mentored entrepreneurs through multiple accelerators for over a decade.
Emily Johnson joined the Boise Public Library as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) in 2022, where she supports a variety of operational aspects for the library.
Before joining the library, Emily worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho for 11 years, including six years as the CEO. Prior to her role at Big Brothers Big Sisters, she was an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer for the Corpus Christi House, a daytime homeless shelter in Boise, Idaho. After her VISTA term of service ended, she stayed on the Corpus Christ House board for eight years.
Emily moved to Boise from Arizona 13 years ago, where she worked in education and facilitated college access programs in low-income schools. Emily earned her B.A. in Education from Arizona State University and her Master’s in Administration from Northern Arizona University.
